Big Decisions to Make!

Congratulations, soon-to-be wedded couples! Along with your new title, you have some new and big decisions to make. Now let’s get into the wedding planning basics! First, one of the most important things to think about is when you want to get married. To really start the fun planning process you need to set a date! You also need to decide who else you want standing by your side on that special day. Luckily you’ve already found your soulmate, but who do you ask to be in your wedding party?

Who’s Paying?

When it comes to who’s paying, it is important to remember that everyone’s situation is different. Traditionally, the bride’s family pays for the majority of the wedding while some events, such as rehearsal dinner, are paid for by the groom’s family. Yet, not all of our couples are traditional! Many of our couples pay for everything themselves. There are many things that engaged couples are responsible for such as wedding party gifts, hair and makeup, wedding bands, etc. To make your wedding planning less stressful, it is good to know where the money is coming from!

Your Wedding Planning Budget!

You need to figure out your wedding budget so that you can start planning accordingly! First, you’ll need to figure out who is contributing and how much, just so you know exactly what you’re working with. You’ll also need to think about the number of guests that you think you will have. Now, what are your non-negotiables? Only Summertime? Do you have to have a band or a DJ? These are questions that will definitely factor into where a majority of your budget might go towards. Save where you can and don’t just spend money to spend it. Prioritize the things that are most important to you.  For more Wedding Planning , see our other blogs and let us know if you’d like to schedule a tour!  Written by: Kristin Chironna
